Namecheap offers not only the ability to buy domains but also DNS hosting in addition to their name registration service. As the name implies, Namecheap’s unique selling point is that they are a cheap, no frills domain broker. They offer a wide variety of domains, at very competitive prices. While they do not provide the highest level of customer service out there (they are definitely no go-to for technical support) their pricing is on point and has been shown to be extremely reliable when it comes to domains.
Namecheap’s sales department is very responsive and easy to deal with. They will provide you a custom quote for your intended domain name (and hosting) purchase, which they are sure that would be lower than the current market price of their services. This makes it much more likely that once you buy from them, you will have a great deal.
Namecheap offers a wide variety of features for their customers. They allow visitors to create pages, use email forwarding, and perform numerous other functions on your domains (including SSL). Their pricing options include both one year plans with renewal every two years as well as longer term domain packages that are renewed annually or biennially. They also offer domain registrations in many different TLDs (Top Level Domain), such as .com, .net, and much more.
Namecheap’s prices can vary quite a bit depending on the plan you buy. They do offer one-year plans that are good for both domain names and hosting, but they also have longer term packages available as well (we prefer to use these long term options).
Namecheap offers both coupon codes and discounts from time to time. When you sign up for emails, they usually also provide a discount code (usually good for 10% off your order). They have special deals available on domain names as well that are advertised at the top of their home page or by emailing their sales team.
Namecheap’s support is a little lackluster, at best. They offer very few options for contacting them about technical issues or billing questions that you may have (their FAQ does not include these answers). However, if it comes to the question of whether or not they provide customer support, we would say that they are definitely not your go-to. If you have a technical issue with the service (usually DNS issues), then Namecheap’s customer care team is by no means trustworthy enough to help solve it.
